Sun! Fun! Run! Done!!!!!!

This boy of mine, who arrived 7 years prior to this picture, is full of joy on this rare, sunny, early spring day. Attila, feeling inspired, has the classical air guitar as he jumped down from the stone bench, by the old oak.

He played well with his siblings and also with the children of a dear friend. Tag, chasing around the park, with laughter and glee, and swinging the younger children on the chained tire were some of the delights of that afternoon.

My sensitive one is still coming into his own, learning the unspoken rules of others and the community. Discerning friend from foe, and more cloudy, the ever present acquaintance. He is getting to know himself and that he is loved.

One day, while meeting with a colleague, there was a firedrill at his school. We went outside, and I happened to watch his class file out, and most of the students were playing, but he did not, and it made me smile. If nothing else, time and place are important concepts, and he was just lovely, and more so, because he did not know I was near, and therefore it was not for show. What will this creative, sensitive boy with a strong name do with his life?

Time has passed

Too much time has come and gone since I last signed on to this page. Ideas come and go; children grow. We endlessly adventure
in beauty and our surroundings. Many mornings or evenings bring forth the family to gather, soaking in the waking or setting hours of the sun where clouds and color paint our sky and gift our sight and souls. Each of my young share this love. Just yesterday, we climbed "our" mountain to look over land, river, sky during the close of the day's light. It is a gift to be opened and experienced daily.

This magic little place we visit, so close to home, brings waterfalls during the wet season. Nobu and Athena share a close bond, as Attila has his own way, but he is ever near and looks after "the kids" as a big brother should. It is not always easy to be the strong one, but they look up to him as such. He will grow into his role as it is revealed to him, and these little warriors look out for each other. Nobu for order; Athena for goodness: Attila for understanding.

Who will they be? Who are they now? Does it ever truly change?
